Our Travels - Day 22 Darwin: September 9th, 2007 |

Everyone's day was full with a few of our men taking the tractor to the N.T. Motor Vehicle Enthusiasts Club workwhop to replace a seal.
The 'never ending household duties' ie, cleaning the vans, washing clothes, shopping, diary entries, etc. Merchandise had to be sorted to be taken to the Mindle Markets during the afternoon.
Most of us arrived at the markets by 3.00 pm and set up the merchandise and information tables. Once organised, we were able to have a quick look around the many and varied stalls before being back in our spot by 4.00 pm when the markets officially opened.
Right on time the tractor, along with the two Dongara 9G's, were escorted into the markets by John Palamountain from Shannon Insurance and created a lot of interest as they pulled up behind our stall.
All hands on deck then as we had a lot of interest about the tractors and merchandise. We then worked on rotation which gave us all another chance to look around the wonderful array of goods for sale at the markets. Darryl was very brave and wore a pair of purple crotcheted bras made for all team members by Barbara's 92 year mother. As Darryl travels in the support truck with George, we have nicknamed them 'George and Mildred'.
We welcomed Ron back into the fold this evening, after his trip to Perth for surgery. He was kindly collected at the airport by Graham Simpson. Welcome back mate - we missed you and are thrilled to have you back with us again - none more so than Kerry. The wonderful Tail End Charlie team have kept the wheels running and on time in his absence.
The sunset was absolutely breathtaking, with amazing crowds of people enjoying the moment with ample supplies of champagne and nibblies.
We shut up shop at 9.00 pm and made our weary way back to the caravan park after a successful and fun day.
