Well, what a wonderful journey we have experienced.  Our travels around Australia celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Tail End Charlie’s 1957 participation in the Mobilgas Car Rally and promoting health awareness and funds for Charity has been most successful.

Our major sponsor, Elders, have given us great support, not only with substantial financial assistance, but also through the efforts of various branches along the route.  Other sponsors, through their donations of goods and services, contributed greatly and helped to keep our expenditure for the trip to a minimum.

The public have again been generous in their donations, many of which have been given because of their personal experiences with one of the cancers within their family or friends.

Our gratitude is extended also to the many clubs, including Rotary, Lions, and Apex who arranged functions during our visit to their towns and communities.  To The Men’s Sheds, 9G Club Members, Prostate and Breast Cancer Support Groups who made us welcome and raised funds for the cause – we thank you all.

We trust that the awareness message has resulted in many people having a health check, hopefully with good results, but if not then the early detection and treatment program will work in your favour.

The fund raising effort has been ongoing and the factors contributing to the result have been due to the Sponsorship of Elders and other sponsors; the generosity of the public; the contribution of the crew by paying their own travel expenses and the functions arranged by the previously mentioned organisations.

The above has resulted in an amount of $36,540 being distributed between the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and the Breast Cancer Network Australia.

Thank you all for being a part of our journey and for following us on the Website – we trust you enjoyed the scenery, the way of life in the outback and the many wonderful people we met along the way.

We extend our Best Wishes to you all for a very happy, safe and healthy Christmas and New Year.
